Auditing

Auditing is useful in tracking and logging the activities on computers and computer networks. By auditing, we can track the activities in computer or computer network and link these activities to specific user accounts or sources of activity. By using auditing or audit logs, later we can collect evidences for finding illegal activities.

All the latest Operating Systems include functions for auditing. Next lesson we will learn how to configure auditing in Windows Server 2003 for illegal access to open files.
